The Resilient DNATL Coalition is a growing network of community members, Tribal partners, healthcare providers, educators, youth leaders, nonprofits, and public agencies working together to create a healthier, more connected Del Norte and Tribal Lands region.

We believe that lasting change begins with relationships. Our coalition exists to strengthen the conditions that allow individuals, families, and communities to thrive by fostering connection, belonging, and collective care. Through collaboration across sectors, we identify barriers, amplify community voices, and design solutions that meet people where they are. Our work is rooted in a simple but powerful understanding: healthy communities are built when people feel connected, supported, and valued. By bringing together diverse perspectives and lived experiences, we are creating pathways that improve well-being, strengthen resilience, and expand access to opportunity and care.

We work toward shared community goals while recognizing that different populations face different barriers. By designing strategies that meet the unique needs of specific groups, we create conditions where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Inspired by the work of Dr. Bruce Perry, this framework helps us understand how relationships, experiences, and environments shape brain development, health, and resilience. It guides our approach to creating trauma-informed and healing-centered communities.

We recognize that people thrive when they experience a sense of belonging, have meaningful connections, feel supported in their well-being, and can contribute to something larger than themselves. This framework serves as a foundation for community engagement, leadership development, and systems change.

Our coalition listens first. Using human-centered design, community conversations, empathy interviews, storytelling, and collaborative planning, we work alongside residents to understand local challenges and co-create solutions. Together, we are building stronger support networks, strengthening community infrastructure, and creating new pathways to health, resilience, and opportunity.

We envision a region where every person feels connected, every family has access to support, and every community has the capacity to respond to challenges with strength, compassion, and hope.
